Holiday Inn Adds To Live WONN Musical Experience

The Lakeland area has seen an uprising of AM radio fans in the past few years because of WONN’s popular Jim Hendrick Morning Drive Show from 6 to 10 AM.  And every Tuesday evening, the Holiday Inn South on S. Florida Ave. in Lakeland is filled to capacity with avid WONN listeners. Jim Hendrick and WONN showcases live local talent as well as famous nationally known acts including Ken Brady of The Casinos, Bobby Hendricks of the Drifters, and even The Calhoun Twins!  The wonderful musical entertainment that the Holiday Inn South brings each week on stage has led them to want to expand and bring their music and motion experience to their adjacent overflow room. They contacted Mid Florida Audio/Video to help them do this.

Mid Florida installed a 100 inch wall mounted projection screen, additional speakers, a camera to capture all the stage action and a 2300 ansi-lumens projector to help the Holiday Inn bring their big live stage experience to more fans. Susan Needham, GM of the Holiday Inn South said, “We are relieved and excited to bring the entire stage to another room full of guests. We presented our event issues to Steve Dru and he knew exactly what we needed. Mid Florida installed the best technology for us within our budget. We are very pleased.”

Owner of Mid Florida Audio/Video, Steve Dru says, “We have installed many such projection systems for a variety of purposes in many local venues including banquet halls in hotels, conference rooms, churches and even BINGO halls.  A high bright projector screen with a high ansi-lumen LCD projector and a high-resolution camera presents unlimited possibilities.” Steve laughed and added, “Now Jim Hendrick can see himself every week on the BIG SCREEN!”

WONN can be found on the AM dial at 1230 AM.
