Over the course of the past several years, Mid Florida Audio/Video has maintained, serviced and installed CCTV systems for the XYZ Liquor stores throughout Polk County.

Most recently, owner Sherman Auger asked us to install an 8-camera CCTV system for one of their newly renovated XYZ stores.  Sherman says, “I wanted a system that could record for several weeks as well as give us smooth playback capability from the recorded video.” We installed a new DVR with a 1TB hard drive that supports triplex operation and features H.264 compression. This advanced video technology allows it to compress video more effectively than older standards and also provides more flexibility for network environments.

Sherman wanted the surveillance cameras’ recordings to be very clear in both dim and brightly lit conditions - whether in their lounge areas or package store.  We installed a 550-TVL Color Camera Body with Sens-up technology and a variety of manual iris lenses. This setup is ideal for various lighting conditions. If the light quality remains constant and does not change, such as in most interior store applications, a manual or fixed iris lens is appropriate. For the rear exit, we installed a 550-TVL Color Dome Camera with an Auto-Iris lens.  An Auto-Iris lens automatically detects the amount of light entering the camera lens and adjusts the scene accordingly to allow just the right amount of light when recording. This provides you with a consistent, clear view.

XYZ’s goal is to eventually update all of their stores with this new technology. Sherman adds, “From time to time, we need to be able to supply the police with a good quality video. This means we want the ability to isolate and print still photos of any offenders. We need this capability at each of our locations. Mid Florida Audio/Video has worked with us from the beginning and is essential for these continued CCTV upgrades. They understand our security requirements and work with our staff and each of our stores individually to refine our CCTV security operations.”
